Marketplace health insurance,made clear.
If you're under 65 and don't have an employer sponsored health plan, a Marketplace plan can bridge the gap. It's built for the self-employed, early retirees, and families without a workplace plan. Hunter Klaassen helps you compare plans and see if you qualify for savings, all for free.

Is the Marketplace for you?
Marketplace plans are made for people under 65 without job-based coverage. If any of these sound like you, it's worth a look. Work for yourself? See our guide to self-employed health insurance in Jackson, MI.
Self-employed & freelancers
No group plan behind you? The Marketplace is where most independent workers find coverage.
Early retirees before 65
Retired but not yet Medicare-eligible? A Marketplace plan covers the years in between.
Between jobs or losing coverage
Left a job or aging off a parent's plan? Losing coverage opens a special window to enroll.
Part-time & gig workers
Hours that don't come with benefits still come with options through the Marketplace.
Families without an employer plan
Cover your whole household on one plan, with savings based on your family's income.
Small business owners
Owners and their families often find a Marketplace plan simpler and cheaper than a group plan.
The four metal tiers.
Every Marketplace plan is sorted into a metal tier. They all cover the same 10 essential health benefits, and pre-existing conditions are always covered. The tiers simply trade a lower premium for higher costs when you use care, or the other way around.
Bronze
The lowest monthly premium with the highest out-of-pocket costs when you need care. A good fit if you're mainly protecting against a worst-case emergency and don't expect many doctor visits.
Silver
A moderate premium and moderate out-of-pocket costs, striking a balance for most people. Lower incomes can unlock built-in cost-sharing reductions that shrink deductibles and copays.
Gold
A higher monthly premium in exchange for lower costs when you use care. Worth it if you see doctors often, take regular prescriptions, or manage an ongoing condition.
Catastrophic
A low-premium safety net for people under 30 or those with a hardship exemption. It covers essential benefits and emergencies after a high deductible is met.
Silver plans have a hidden perk: if your income qualifies, they add cost-sharing reductions that lower your deductible and copays automatically. Hunter makes sure you don't leave that savings on the table.
You may qualify for savings.
Most people who buy their own coverage qualify for a premium tax credit, a subsidy that lowers what you pay each month. The amount is based on your income and household size, and it's applied directly to your premium so you feel the savings right away.
You don't wait until tax time to benefit, and you don't need a low income to qualify. Plenty of people are surprised to learn how much help they're eligible for. The only way to know your number is to run a quote for your household.
Hunter estimates your subsidy for free
Share a few basics about your household and Hunter will estimate your premium tax credit and show you what plans actually cost after savings. There's no obligation and no fee, ever.
